Is there anyway to make my hair less poofy and big?

I have long hair, it's probably like 12 inches long. But it's curley, and it gets really poofy on the sides. Not quite like an afro but it's still pretty big. Is there anyway to cut it so it keeps its length but is less poofy? Also is there any products to make it less huges?

Go to the hair stylist and have them thin it out then use a anti frizz serum.

if you go to a sallon and talk to the people there they can suggest something. dont worry about not buying anything from them because they probably have a product for you!

You can first try layers and get a smoothing/shine serum. Get a de-frizzing gel/cream too. Then blow dry your hair and straighten it. I would also recommend straight hot from lorieal and a leave in conditioner. I just started using those two, and it helps A LOT!! Good luck! ;)

How do you wear your hair? Maybe you can thin it out by layer it Do you sweat alot? You will need to train your hair to do what you want it to do. It can be done. To get by, try laying it down with mouse.

You can use a flat iron to straighten it, I reccomend a CHI.

Also you can try anti-frizz gels and sprays.

Or, try not brushing it. Just comb through it in the shower with lots of conditioner, rinse well, and then let it air-dry. There should be no "poof" but instead relaxed curls.
