I have a real big problem with ingrown hair when I shave.?

I dry shave (well with hot water). I have used every shaving cream on the market. They all break my face out. I've been to the doctor. Nothing helps. Does anyone know of a way to help me with this problem? I can't grow a beard due to work either.

Yes I know I'm a girl, but maybe I can help?? I used to have a problem with ingrown hairs when I shaved my bikini line, and nothing seemed to help. My doc told me to use a warm cloth or to sit in a warm bath for about 5 to 10 minutes to loosen up the hair follicles. Also, to shave down, never up (against) the hair. He also suggested hair conditioner instead of shaving cream, which works rather well! Hope everything works out!

theres a reason barbers used to give their patrons a hot towel to lay on their face before a shave it helps open the pores and makes for a better shave...maybe you should start going to a barber shop for your shaves and get their advice.

it is in the way you shave mate. follow the flow of the hair. dont go up on your sides go down. it causes the har to be pulled out then retracts deeper into the skin. this causes it to grow inwards. a good barber will explain this in detail and show you. if it hurts when you shave then you are doing it wrong and also may need a new blade. good luck

i used to have the same problem then someone told me about a after shave cream that helps and prevents that . you can find it everywhere there are diferent brands
